LYNK Capital is a dynamic private lender with a mission: to empower real estate investors with innovative financial solutions. Celebrating over 11 years of success, LYNK Capital has become a trusted partner for repeat customers thanks to their speed, transparency, and commitment to service excellence.
What Led to Their Creation
Ben Lyons, Founding Partner and Chairman of LYNK Capital, became part of the real estate industry in a fortuitous manner. Upon graduating high school, a realty aficionado offered Lyons an opportunity to work under him for free, trading the chance to learn the inner workings of the real estate realm. After Lyons’ first day on the job, he instantly knew – this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
As his work experience progressed, Lyons ran a total of six banking platforms. In 2012, he and business partner Alex Fink plotted an exit strategy, and sold their sixth platform to a bank. With their earned revenue, they founded LYNK Capital.

The idea for LYNK Capital came about from the 2008 financial crisis, and the banking legislation and guideline changes that were enacted as a result. This was known as The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which officially signed into law in 2010. This created issues for real estate developers, as they no longer qualified for monetary loans at a bank level. Consequently, the need for private lending skyrocketed.
What Does LYNK Capital Offer?
Lyons emphasized that on the lending side of LYNK Capital, they offer transitional loan segments, which typically involve 12-to-24-month lending periods. This is attributable to LYNK Capital loans containing premiums, which are not preferable for traditional, lengthier loans, but are reasonable in short term endeavors. Additionally, traditional banks often require a longer waiting period when it comes to receiving loans, taking up to 90 days, on average, to complete the loan process. This is far longer of a wait than what is offered by LYNK Capital, who can fulfill a loan in as little as two weeks.
“As a former banker myself, I can tell you that just the rules and regulations in conjunction with the requirements to underwrite a business loan at a bank is very different than in private credit.” -Ben Lyons
LYNK Capital has four available programs for private loan seekers:
- Renovation (also known as Fix and Flip)
- Construction
- Bridge Loans
- Rental Products
Furthermore, LYNK Capital offers two Fund investment opportunities, through their LYNK Capital Fund L.P. and LYNK Capital Opportunity Fund L.P., which are currently utilized by several clients at Madison Trust.

What Makes LYNK Capital Standout?
On the loan servicing side of LYNK Capital, members of the Executive Team at LYNK Capital have their own background in investing, building, and/or owning properties. Lenders at LYNK Capital learn from individuals with a diverse and knowledgeable background in the lending space and pass on their knowledge to assist clients navigating their real estate ventures.
Regarding LYNK Capital Fund L.P., it is rare for a potential investor to have the opportunity to speak directly with a founding member of the fund about investment opportunities, but this is welcomed at LYNK Capital. The LYNK Capital team prioritizes open communication, in hopes that it will instill confidence among their investors. LYNK Capital actively incorporates customer insights into both their Operations and Capital Markets divisions. This level of communication and transparency is often noted as a positive contrast to their peers.
What’s It Like to Invest with LYNK Capital?
Their philosophy is to protect investor capital while producing the best possible return. The ideal investor for LYNK Capital is characterized as an "accredited investor" as defined by Regulation D of the U.S. Securities Act of 1933. This includes individuals with the financial resources and understanding to accept the risks of investing in private offerings. The process to invest in the LYNK Capital Fund L.P. or Opportunity Fund L.P includes:
1. Investors are given a fund summary, a PPM, walk through of their investor portal, as well as all audited financials.
2. Potential investors are invited to discuss the opportunity directly with Ben Lyons, where he explains the potential risks and benefits of investing.
3. Once the prospective investor feels comfortable and is committed to investing with LYNK Capital, they will be put in touch with the Investor Relations Team.
4. The Investor Relations team will work with the investor to complete all subscription documents, go through the investment accreditation process, and address any outstanding items needed to process the investment.
Enjoying the Fruits of Their Labor

Over the course of LYNK Capital’s existence, they’ve closed almost 2000 loans, totaling more than $1.0 billion of volume since its inception. The most rewarding part of the private lending experience is teaching newcomers and helping them transform into knowledgeable, independent individuals who pave their own path to attaining success. On numerous occasions, Lyons has witnessed investors fascinated by HGTV attempt to fix and flip a property, make mistakes, and then reach out to LYNK Capital for assistance. From there, he’s seen them blossom into individual success stories, some earning more than they do from their 9-5 occupation.
Lyons had a book published in 2015 titled, Be the Bank. It offers those intrigued by private lending or private credit some perspective into how to go about setting up their own fund. Private lending has been such a monumental component of Lyons’ life, providing the freedom and resources to donate money to schools and communities. He wants to – figuratively and literally – share the wealth.
“I don’t advertise the business. I advertise the idea of private credit.” -Ben Lyons
What’s Next for LYNK Capital?
Ben Lyons, alongside CEO Dee Toll-Brothers, CFO Matt Brothers, and the entire Executive Team, intends to grow LYNK Capital exponentially over the next five years. With retirement on the horizon, Lyons is considering the near future as the best chance to make these goals a reality. One major example of LYNK Capital’s growth is that CFO Matt Brothers has built an entire technology system from scratch that runs the organization back to front. This innovation, among other initiatives, highlights LYNK Capital’s advancement and dedication to continued growth.
