Each year Madison Trust and our sister company, Broad Financial, host a Spirit Week to bolster our team-building skills and live out the four pillars of our culture: Caring, Collaborating, Improving, and Empowering. Employees are encouraged to come to the office dressed according to various themes, engage in decorating their department’s space, and participate in a philanthropic fundraiser.
Each year proves to be better than the last! This year, the office was filled with excitement, enthusiasm, and camaraderie. Let’s check out how this week went!
Monday: Around the World
Bright and early Monday morning, each department was scurrying around the office to decorate their section. We had until 9:00am to decorate before the judges (Daniel Gleich, CEO and President, and Gina Stoddard, Chief of Staff) walk around and select a winner.
Each team was encouraged to represent a country of their choice. As you walked down each aisle you were immersed in each country’s national colors, culture, and food. Mexico had authentic tacos and a piñata, Ireland had red hair and “Irish Coffee,” Canada had a moose and a snowboarder, France had fresh croissants and a replica of Mona Lisa, and England had replica of the London Bridge, Big Ben, and hot tea. The teams worked together to pull off an amazing experience for all. What a sight it was!
Tuesday: Decades Day
On Tuesday, you could hear some familiar iconic sayings such as “Yabba Dabba Doo!,” “As If!,” and “Beam Me Up, Scotty!” On this day, each team was encouraged to dress to impress according to their favorite decade. We had a wide representation of time periods ranging from the Stone Age, 1990s, 2020s, and even the future!
Wednesday: Color War Day
Like a flip of a switch, the next day the office decor completely changed! Cubicles were lit up with the colors of the rainbow. Each department was designated a color and tasked with decorating their area of the office. Creativity was highly encouraged, and teams did not disappoint! There were blue Smurfs, orange pumpkins, yellow lemons, purple aliens, red NJ devils, and “Mean Girls” the movie in pink! We also all shared a popular lunch choice in our office, pizza and sushi!
Thursday: Circus Day
Come one, come all - welcome to the circus! On Thursday, the entire office came together to pull off the “Greatest Show on Earth.” The entire company joined forces to make this theme come to life. We had lions, elephants, jugglers, clowns, ringmasters, ticket booth operators, and games like balloon pop, fishing hole, and so much more!
After work on Thursday, we gathered at a local bowling alley and arcade where we shared a meal and announced the 2024 Spirit Week winners. Awards were given to each day’s Most Spirited Team and the MVP of Spirit Week. With a round of applause and smiles all around, it was a joyful way to celebrate our efforts!
Friday: Recap Day and Philanthropy Final Count
To end our fun and productive week, on Friday we reminisced through a video recap of our creative ideas, laughs we shared, and fun that was had.

We are also proud to announce that we were able to fundraise over $8,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, putting us as a Top Team in Make-a-Wish New Jersey! Thank you to all our donors who made this possible!
Conclusion: Let’s Tie It All Up
Madison Trust’s and Broad Financial’s Spirit Week 2024 was an enormous success! All our employees worked together, while having fun and finding spirit and pride in our workplace. This week emphasized how each individual’s role in the company contributes to the achievement of a common goal. In turn, this unique experience continues to inspire our employees to work together to provide exceptional service to our clients.
