Spirit Week at Madison Trust Company and Broad Financial
As the summer comes to a close, Madison Trust Company and Broad Financial participated in our First Annual Spirit Week! Each day employees were encouraged to dress according to different themes, participate in team-building and philanthropy events, and be part of some healthy competition. This week truly personified our culture of Caring, Collaborating, Improving, and Empowering.
Let’s check out how the week went:
Monday: Culture Theme Day
To kick off the week, a company-wide Zoom meeting was held. In the meeting, a few members shared a motivating story or poem to set the tone of the week – to work together, learn about each other, and have fun!
On Monday, individuals were encouraged to show pride in their culture by wearing Red, White, and Blue or something that represents where their family is from. We had some great outfit choices:
Individuals also picked up their Spirit Week Packets which included a scavenger hunt, trivia game, and a challenge to ask a coworker you never spoke to before for a fun fact about themselves.
Tuesday: Favorite Team, Carnival, and Philanthropy Day
The next day everyone was tasked with wearing their favorite sports team or college apparel. A carnival was also held in the break room; plenty of popcorn and games were held including “Guess How Many Hershey’s Kisses are in the Jar”. We also gathered to celebrate this month’s birthdays by eating strawberry shortcake – delicious!
Tuesday also started our philanthropy event. Departments were broken up into teams and challenged to donate the most items to the Tri-Boro Food Pantry. Some items that were donated included canned goods, household items, and toiletries that are necessities for families in the Tri-Boro area.
Wednesday: Color Day
Early Wednesday morning before the workday even started, the office was beaming with colorful decorations. Each department was designated a color and tasked with decorating a desk. Everyone was encouraged to work with their department and be as creative as possible. This day brought out some healthy competition, as each team hoped to be the winner of this event.
Look at those dazzling desks!
Thursday: Madison Trust Company, Broad Financial, and Disney Day
Madison Trust and Broad Financial model their culture and customer service after Disney’s. Madison, just like Disney, looks to create a culture with a sense of belonging, devotion, and employees who wish to exceed customer expectations. Our culture is defined by the behaviors we demonstrate intentionally and consistently. Once we know our culture, it’s easy to make decisions based on that framework.
On Thursday we ended the day with a company barbeque, where we enjoyed each other’s company and handed out prizes to the winners of the week.
Friday: Recap and Recuperate From the Fun Week
On Friday we looked at all of the wonderful pictures and shared fun stories from the past few days. We also are proud to announce that we donated 1,270 total items to the Tri-Boro food pantry!
A company that truly cares for and empowers its employees is really special. In turn, employees that work together and live out the company culture create a positive experience for every client. We look forward to Spirit Week next year!
